Riding the software horseβ¦
So far my public portfolio on eToro (@Etcaetera) achieved ca. +18% YTD, outperforming the S&P 500βs +10.5% to date.
Since inception in 2022 my portfolio (primarily focused on US equities, without strong personal sector preferences) has been outperforming the US benchmark.
One key to successful investing is to buy quality when it is met by weakness (poor sentiment).
I bought AT&T and Verizon when everyone was afraid of the lead story in 2023, I bought Micron when no one wanted it for $100, likewise AMD around $100 when it was declared an AI loser to Nvidia, and right now itβs the beaten down software stocks (victims of the Β« SaaSpocalypse Β» such as Microsoft, ServiceNow and Atlassian) that are pushing my performance higher.
Itβs a really tough market with a lot of manipulation, at a level I have never seen before in terms of volume and how blatant it is. Still, if you manage to zoom out, mute the short-term and hold on to your long-term convictions, you will do just fine.
Volatility will continue but I remain (cautiously) bullish for the rest of 2026 without any major plans for rebalancing.
I am still riding the software turnaround horse until they overheat (can be a few more months or quarters), then I will slowly reallocate as I spot new opportunities.
Thank you for reading me and subscribing to support my journey. π
